Long before she wrote about Mercy Thompson, Patricia Briggs wrote Raven's Shadow and Raven's Strike. Here she created a believable and consistent world, but most of all, she has given us heroes. Tier, Seraph, Jes, Lehr, Rinnie, Phoran and their fellow travelers are believable, honorable, endearing yet imperfect heroes. While they may fail for a time to overwhelming odds, they never disappoint. Every once in a while I must return to this world and reread these two books. I recommend them with no reservations.

This book is completely outside of Patricia Briggs' books on urban fantasy, but is enjoyable. However, the concept of this fantasy world is very interesting and enjoyable. My only complaint that the second book Raven's Shadow is essentially Part II of this book -- they should be released as a single volume.
Wasn’t at all what I expected from P Briggs! But it was fabulous. Well written as usual. The story revealing itself as I kept reading which kept me wanting to continue to read. Had a hard time stopping each night.
This book has everything. It is smart, exciting, relatable, and engaging. Th world building is incredible. The characters are genius. It's absolutely necessary that you read the first book in order to fully understand the story. I guarantee you will love them both.
This is a great fantasy and sequel to Raven's Shadow. Seraph, Tier, family and friends are off to defeat the Shadowed. The writing is fantastic. I did take a point off for poor copy editing. Although minor, I found the early misspelling and incorrect name usage to be distracting.
I'm Not a writer so so don't look to this review to be written as eloquently as the author Patricia Briggs. This 2 book series was very entertaining, with awesome characters and great world building. The plot was well thought out and straightforward. The rating is suitable for young adult fantasy lovers, adventurous enough for this old man and anyone in between! Thank you Patricia Briggs. .. -)
Raven's Strike is an enthralling sequel to Raven's Shadow. Patricia Briggs has created a beautiful and believable magical world, filled with strong, unforgettable characters, and a fascinating plot line.
Though it didn't have as much romance as I usually like, I still love this duet of books. The world Ms Briggs created is simply amazing and the characters so well crafted, they feel like friends. I really liked that we got the pov of everyone and not just one or two characters. I wish it was a longer series, I'd especially loved to read more of Pharon and his guard.
