Swoon!!From the beginning of this book I felt connected to Bronagh. She kept to herself (and her sister) but was full of sass and spirit when triggered...and boy was she triggered often. Dominic however had to grow on me. I mean he was hot (with his dimples and all of his ‘ceps) don’t get me wrong but his attitude was too much for me. But he is a persistent one and as he opened up and I learned more of his story I was sold. —It could also have been his dirty talk...
Anyways back to the actual story...I loved the storyline and how it developed throughout. All of the ups and downs, backs and forths, twists and turns were so well placed. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series!
If you love witty banter, arrogant men, and badass women (who aren’t afraid to throw things at the aforementioned arrogant men) then this is the book for you!!

DOMINIC Slater Brothers Book 1 edition by LA Casey JaVa Editing Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews
I have mixed feelings about this book. It had the potential to be good, but the way the characters were written just ruined it for me. They acted sooooo immature that at one point I thought to myself, "now how old did it say they were?" Because they acted like elementary school kids. Constantly bickering and calling each other horrible names. One classroom scene they actually called each other a sl_t and a fag_ot. I was so shocked. It went on like this through the whole book. How in the world these two could fall in love with the way they treated each other was almost unbelievable. You know how young boys will pull little girls hair or similar things to get their attention, but they really like the girl and just don't know how to interact with them? Well that's exactly how these two act and it was just hard to reconcile with two teenagers. I found it offensive and rude actually. I tried reading the next book "Bronagh" and it addressed her anger issues and how old she is and still throws immature tantrums at her age. But the way the author addressed it was ridiculous in my opinion. I mean come on, he put up with it through the whole first book, encouraged and liked it pretty much, then out of the blue he is scolding her for it. And this is right after they agreed to get pregnant, BUT we're not ready for the BIG step of marriage. REALLY!?! It was all over the place and I just didn't care for it.
I honestly had mixed thoughts on this book from the different reviews that have been made about this book. I can see how many are upset because the heroine is described as a quiet loner, and the book betrays her as anything but that. However, I am sure we all have met that one person who simply just makes you want to punch them in the face even if you are a passive quiet person. I honestly LOVED this book, it had me cracking up! Who does not want a guy that is over protective even if at times you want to slap him because he opens his trap. I think that had the two characters just suddenly fell in love that it would not have worked, it amazes me that there are so many stories that the two just see each other and love hits. I like how the two characters had the witty banter, and how Dominic pissed her off so much that she wanted to strangle him. This part is what helped her character grow and come out of her shell! I like the heroine once you cracked her shell she had spunk and was not some wilted wallflower. I enjoyed the interacting of the sisters and the closeness of their relationship. The Slater brothers have an unbeatable bond which gives the story something extract. I can admit I did not fully understand some of the lingo used but it did not take away from the story. It was a fantastic read, and I thoroughly look forward to the next book in the serious.
* I have read this series many times, truly a great read*
First of congratulations to L.A. Casey for her debut novel! It absolutely blows me away that this is your first novel! I fell in love with Dominic within the first chapter and it only intensified as I read more. I loved the chemistry and bickering between Dominic and Bronagh as well as the constant love / hate relationship between them. The story draws you in and keeps you guessing what will happen. You can't forget about Damien , Alec , Kane and Ryder. I loved how they were incorporated into the book. The story was definitely Dominics but you will get bits of his brothers that will leave you craving more about them and what their stories are about. I also loved the relationship with Bronagh and Branna. Their mother / sister relationship was classic. I loved everything about this book from the relationships to all the bickering to the twist and turns. I can not wait for more from L.A. Casey! She is definitely a author to be watching out for!
I read the warning (Good idea by the way)
So knowing what to expect, I was hesitant but figured I would keep an open mind. After all, I did see the other reviews that glowed.
So glad I took a chance! I loved this ride and couldn't put it down!
I was torn between feeling like Dominic was a bully and feel Ing like he was the proverbial little boy who teased the girl he liked. Then there was Bronagh's total over-reaction to his mere presence. Had it not been that Bronagh's inner monologues said she was attracted to him, I'm not certain I would have been able to keep going. I knew he wouldn't be violent to her, but the possessiveness was alarming. I was glad Bronagh's character didn't let him get away with much!
To sum this book up, only one word can apply PASSION!
Passion in all it's forms. If you can handle it, then you *need* to read this book!
Update
As it turns out, this series has now been one I've read more than once. Multiple times, in fact, and I don't reread many - so many books out there to escape to!
I've just finished reading DAMIEN and it inspired me to read the series all over again. My original review still stands but after reading DAMIEN I had to go back and pick up the nuances between them. Casey superbly recaps their beginnings but it was great to go back for a refresher. And to now read it with the knowledge of DAMIEN - well done Ms Casey!! Well done!! Thank you so much for this saga you've created! Thus far, I've read all your books. I am looking forward to this family as it grows and any other story you create!
