As someone who suffers from depression and anxiety, Matt's writings help in letting Me know that I'm okay. This book is exactly what I needed to read. We are living in a time that is hard to understand and sometimes letting go is necessary, but not to the point of recklessness. Matt seems to always find the right way to pinpoint the struggles of many and he has the ability to make us feel as if we are wrapped safe in a warm blanket. Sounds corny, I'm sure... but I honestly having a hard time writing this without crying as it truly brought a certain type of peace to my soul. Thank you Matt. xoxo

Maybe something millenials may like or understand but author didnt delve deep into the topics.....touched the surface....for older experienced people our bookclub didnt get much out of this book. The big message was to disconnect.....well duh. Unrealistic given todays social and work scenes
No words to say how much I love this book. I loaned it out and almost bought another copy while I was waiting for it to be returned to me because I was impatient to read it again. The only book I’ve ever reread and I have been an avid reader for my entire life. It’s a masterpiece. Everyone should read it. At least once.
Each chapter has such interesting insights on various aspects of life.I love the way his thoughts flow and found hs take on life very thought provoking.Just to take a big step back and notice how we can get sucked into leading such materialistic useless lives in the rat race.It seems ridiculous how our lives became so ruled by technology in particular.His solutions are realistic and practical.This was a very worthwhile purchase and I see myself dipping into the book going forwards whenever I feel overwhelmed and spinning out.
It’s a book that is written from personal experience and common sense; not necessarily a strong research base. However, it’s assert are hard to dispute, and it recognizes and crystallizes what we all know too much time on-line is not good for our mental health. It’ll help you justify (to others) good reasons to go off-line.
This book was suggested by a professor and it opens your eyes to many things happening in our world that we are oblivious to. I connected with many of the concepts and topics Matt Haig discussed. It felt like I was reading about experiences I have had personally. Notes on a Nervous Planet was the first book I got the chance to read for pleasure in quite some time and it sparked my desire to read again. Thank you for your vulnerability and honesty! I am so excited to read Matt Haig's other books!

I just finished reading Notes on a Nervous Planet, and if I had to select one book to sit on tables in doctor's offices, mental health facilities, dentist's offices, salons, that weird spare room at the mechanic's next to the vending machine, or anywhere else someone is left waiting... it would be this one.
